LabelLike his master Frans Snyders (1579-1657), Jan Fyt was an Antwerp still-life painter who worked in a dynamic, painterly manner rather than a precise, smooth style. In his early years Fyt worked in Paris, but also traveled to Italy. He specialized in flower paintings and animal and game still lifes and was tremendously successful.
